Gooey Skillet Chocolate Cake and Ice Cream



*ingredients:

°1 cup flour
°1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
°1 cup of sugar
°a pinch of salt
°1/4 cup (half stick) butter
°1/4 cup vegetable oil
°2 tablespoons cocoa powder
°1/2 cup of water
°1/4 cup of milk
°1 egg
°1/2 teaspoon vanilla
+icing:
°1/4 cup (half stick) butter
°2 tablespoons
°3-4 tablespoons of milk (as needed for consistency)
°1/2 cup chopped American walnuts
°2 cups of powdered sugar
°1/2 teaspoon vanilla
+Ice cream (to serve)
°Caramel Sauce
°Whipped cream (to serve)

*Directions

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit, in a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, sugar and salt and place in a 10 inch cast iron skillet, bring butter, vegetable oil, cocoa powder and water to a boil. 
Removing from heat & mixing dry ingredients well. Combine milk, eggs and vanilla.
Bake the cake in the pan at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 15 to 20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- While the cake is starting to cool, prepare the decorations. In a saucepan, bring butter, cocoa, and milk to a boil. Remove from heat and add powdered sugar, walnuts and vanilla. stir until combined.
Pour over warm cake, spread with spoon and serve with vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce and whipped cream.
